MEET AGROBAJA 2003

AgroBaja, is the only Agricultural Exposition that takes place on the border between the United States and Mexico, will take place from Thursday March 27th through Saturday March 29th 2003, in the Agricultural Test Field of the National Institute of Forest, Agricultural and Livestock Research –INIFAP-, located in Mexicali – San Felipe Highway kilometer 7.5, in the State of Baja California, Mexico from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

This event will allow over 229 participants to exhibit their implements, products, services, state of the art concepts and more to an expected 15,000 visitors. In addition, there will be a pavilion of non-traditional agriproducts.

In this international event, all participating exhibitors, from the Agricultural and Livestock and Fish sector, or service providers, will be first level executives, with full decision-making power.

At AgroBaja 2003, all trade segments from the domestic and international primary sectors will network, discuss and share new ideas to facilitate global success.

What’s more, exhibitors will be able to reinforce their actual business associations and also will have the opportunity of meet face-to-face thousands of potential new customers.

AgroBaja is organized by The Agricultural and Livestock Exposition Committee of Baja California, A.C., a non-profit organization.

AgroBaja started in 2001 and had 188 participants. Because of its huge success, in 2002, AgroBaja added a non-traditional agriproducts pavilion and had 220 participants. The non-traditional agriproducts pavilion coordinated with the Secretariat of Agriculture, Cattle, Rural Development, Fish and Food –Sagarpa-, and boasted representatives of 17 domestic states in 300 booths.

Entrepreneurs, from different countries, will be visiting the event to purchase primary products as well as to create co-investments

A survey that was taken at the end of the second AgroBaja, that took place last year, showed that 75% of the exhibitors initiated new business bothe for the short and long term worth approximately P$105 million (Mexican Currency).

Furthermore, March 14, 2003 marks Baja California’s 100th anniversary and AgroBaja will form part of Mexicali’s Centennial celebrations.
